First Week

The week saw me confused, with everything so unfamiliar, with each term a mystery, I din't knew where to start. But somewhere inside i felt better with each day, reading through web, looking for words, making myself familiar with the terminolgy and trying to understand the need of the task in hand ... I read each day, some text, some piece of published letters looking for words to make sense.

Dr. Nagarjuna, our guide is a man totally in sync with his goal. The knowledge and expertise of the man surely will lead us to my goal. His first lecture inspired a feeling to work in me, the feeling which was burried deep inside me, once I left my school. I feel the days of school are back again, the days I so longed for.

Now I know my project and I know my goal for the first month and I am set to progress in the right direction. To read about OWL, about RDF, about data exchange models developed my old trainees, python, zope ....

Started with the Data Exchange module for Gnowsys with OWL, moving towards the OWL specification, I galloped my way into other sections of the W3C.

The job for the next week is completing OWL, read the three reports of Data Exchange module of Gnowsys with OWL, XTM and GnowML, perform some handy workouts with python and Zope.

A break to bring a computer will come in handy and will set the scene for more devoted studies.

Bbaye for now ...

First Record

Crossing the boundaries of year 2005, I stepped into this new year which brought about with it everything new. A new destination, a new workplace, a new city and everything as new as t could be.
So now here I am with a new blog... the blog to maintain the history of this new year.

No resolutions for 2006, but certainly a mind set to work and work hard and start my work, here I am at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. First day and it all looked so confusing, I felt tensed, puzzled, mystified but as time passed, the fear in me passed as well and now I am excited, very excited about the new work in hand.

The atmosphere at TIFR friendly if not young, things are neat and discipline and with the project aimed changing the meaning of the most widely used and acclaimed service WWW, I feel priviledged to be part of the society of intellects and scholars. Faced with the challenges in hand, I am filled with hysteria of failure but I am prepared to stand up to it. And I promise, I shall succeed .
